Crown Prince Naruhito

Crown Prince Naruhito, born in 1960 is the eldest son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan. He is a mountaineering enthusiast On August 8, 2008 he climbed up the Fujinomiya Trail to the summit of Mount Fuji. After his successful climbing the  Crown Prince said: "I felt the greatness of Mount Fuji, and the sunrise was incredible".

2008 was the first time for Crown Prince Naruhito to reach the top. He also tried in 1988 but had to give up at the 8th station due to bad weather. The Crown Prince is a member of the Japanese Alpine Club.
